Petra Popek Biškupec graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb in 2004, after which she was employed in the private sector, where she gained professional experience. For the needs of additional training, in 2010 she completed postgraduate specialist studies at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb. In 2014, she received her doctorate at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb, majoring in finance. The topic of the doctoral thesis was the coordination of monetary and macroprudential policy in preserving the long-term stability of the financial system.

Since 2011, she has been employed at the University of Applied Sciences Baltazar Zaprešić, where she currently holds the position of vice dean for development and operations and actively participates in scientific and professional research in the field of economics, with a narrower interest in the field of the financial system and monetary policy.
