SMART CITY - EU, ZAGREB CASE
On November 8, 2024, students of Sumy University from Ukraine had the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of the Smart City concept with our lecturer Dubravka Maras. The lecture covered the history of the development of the concept, implementation and dissemination of the idea of ​​“smart cities” in Europe.
 
Special attention was paid to the experience of the city of Zagreb, a prime example of implementing smart solutions in urban space. Participants learned about innovative initiatives that have made the Croatian capital one of the best examples of effective use of technology in infrastructure development, environmental safety and improving the quality of life of its residents.
CALL for INTERNSHIP PROGRAM of GERMAN BUSINESS

GUESTS FROM PARTNER INSTITUTIONS
Baltazar Polytechnic attracts guests from partner institutions even in the hottest weather! In the last two weeks, we have been visited by as many as a dozen colleagues from Turkey, Georgia, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia and Portugal to learn about the teaching methods at our polytechnic, while also enjoying the beauties of Croatia and our clean sea.
TEACHERS AT THE COLLEGE OF VIESTE, ON THE EAST COAST OF ITALY
Teachers from our Polytechnic, Stjepan Lacković and Bruno Raguž, visited Vieste, a small town on the east coast of Italy, as part of the International Staff Week, organized by the University of Foggia. This year's Staff Week was held under the title Promoting Internalization in All Areas of Higher Education, and brought together over 250 participants from almost all European countries.
Staff week je ponudio mnogo zanimljivih predavanja vezano za internacionalne odnose i međunarodne projekte, kao i upoznavanja kolega iz svih sektora visokog obrazovanja.
Svakako treba pohvaliti i izvrsne domaćine uz preporuku svima za neke buduće Erasmuse!
INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL IN BIOGRAD NA MORU
The Summer School in Biograd na Moru, which brought together 36 students from 6 European countries, has successfully come to an end. This event, organized with the aim of promoting knowledge and cultural exchange among young people as part of the Erasmus+ program as a blended mobility, lasted a week and included a variety of activities and workshops.
Participants from Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Portugal, the Czech Republic and Poland had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in areas such as ecology, sustainable development, management and European culture. The program was designed to encourage interdisciplinary cooperation and critical thinking, and the lecturers were our teachers and one guest lecturer.
In addition to lectures and workshops, students participated in various social and cultural events, which included visits to the entrepreneurial incubator in Zadar, the Brlog brewery founded by women, local landmarks, and a trip to the Krka National Park. These activities allowed them to better learn about the culture and customs of our country, as well as to connect with each other and create long-lasting friendships.
The closing ceremony of the summer school was marked by the awarding of certificates, at which students presented their projects and works that they developed during their stay.
This summer school not only contributed to the education of the participants, but also presented Biograd na Moru as a dynamic destination open to international events and collaborations. We, as organizers, are satisfied with the achieved results and are already developing plans for similar projects in the future, with the aim of further improving education and international cooperation on Baltazar Zaprešić University of Applied Sciences.
JUNE AT BALTAZAR IN THE SIGN OF MOBILITY
June at Baltazar Polytechnic was marked by incoming mobility. During this month, colleagues from Ghana, Turkey, Slovakia and Poland visited us as part of the Erasmus+ project. Their visit represents an extraordinary opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences and cultures, and to strengthen the capacity for international cooperation.
Colleague Afua from Ghana shared with us how African educational methods and approaches work, while guests from Poland spoke about innovations in the field of technology and management, as well as their research in the IT field.
Colleagues from Slovakia and Turkey talked about the experiences of the good bang in the application of digital technologies in education, as well as the introduction of innovations in teaching processes.
We are looking forward to having the opportunity to host our colleagues and work together with them to improve education and international cooperation.
STUDENT MOBILITY COMPETITION
We would like to remind all students that there is an ongoing competition for student mobility within the Erasmus program, which runs until June 13th, and which we presented on Wednesday at another INFO Day.
Students can apply for mobility for the purpose of study or professional training for at least 2 months (usual practice is one semester) at one of the many institutions with whichPolytechnic University of Baltazar Zaprešić has a signed cooperation agreement. For more information, see the link:
ERASMUS+ DAYS Singidunum University, Belgrade, Serbia
In the middle of this month, our colleague, Kristina Đolo Labus from the International Cooperation Office, visited Singidunum University, Belgrade, Serbia, where she represented the colors of our University of Applied Sciensces Baltazar Zaprešić .
Singidunum University is a private higher education institution with more than 10,000 students and consists of 15 faculties. It offers 7 programs for undergraduate studies, 6 for graduate studies and 5 doctoral studies. The teaching programs are in line with the principles of the Bologna Declaration and enable the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
